coffeecarsFor those who may be interested let’s plan to attend the Cars and Coffee on Saturday, July 7, 2012.

Cars and Coffee™ Dallas meets on the first Saturday of the month from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm and is a gathering of auto enthusiasts where hundreds of proud drivers congregate to kick tires and have a cup of coffee. There will be something for everyone to enjoy; classics, exotics, concepts, hotrods, motorcycles, motor-sport and fellow Land Rover enthusiasts. And it's all free, minus the coffee of course.

I'll be there and will do the breakfast thing, but I'm probably going to drag out a non-rover this time, maybe even a domestic.

It is illegal to be up at 6:45AM on a Saturday, unless you are heading out to bikini-land for the day like me. Whoever goes have a good marning, I'll take two milks in my coffe pls.

Ok, a few of us were thinking of going kayaking down the trinity river after breakfast. We will put in at 3716 Sylvan Ave, Dallas, TX 75207 when breakfast is done and we will paddle to 1601 Parkway Ave Dallas, TX 75203 at the "Dallas Wave."

This is a decent kayak trip and it will be hot, so do bring water bottles if you plan on joining us. Also, you will want some decent swim shoes as there will be times when you will be carrying your kayak on your shoulder when we get into the water and when we exit the water.

The river is calm and smooth and there is not any fast moving water. The "Dallas Wave" is at the point where we will exit the river. It is a white water park that the city of Dallas built for white water kayaks and it is two permanent waves that are fun to paddle kayaks on. You do not have to take your boat on the wave, as there are exit points right in front of the waves, and this is where we exit the river anyways, so don't let this worry you.

Anyone else planning to come out Saturday? We may go earlier to Norma's depending on the heat that morning.

Maddie and I are planning on going but I have to play it by ear. My mom's situation in Virginia is getting worse and we might have to start heading to Virginia any day now.

I think Roger is correct - it is illegal to be up that early on Saturday.

Just got my parts for my drive shaft. I will be attempting this Thursday night. As of now, it appears that I will be making Cars and Coffee and the kayaking trip. I think I will have a extra kayak if anyone is interested in going along that does not have one.
